AdWords Product Extensions

Google launched on the 21e of September a new feature for Adwords called Product Extensions. This feature is now also available  for UK advertisers after a successful launch in the US last year. During the beta they were known as the Product PlusBox if this does not sound familiar. This was an extremely popular and successful beta so there will be a lot of interest now with the full launch.

What is Product Extensions? Product Extensions is a new feature of Google AdWords that allows you to leverage your existing Google Merchant Centre feed to integrate your products directly in your search ads.

Why would you use this new adwords feature?

  • It will increase your Return on Investment (ROI) on the adwords campaigns
  • You don’t have to change your current ads
  • Flexible targeting lets you control high value queries

Product Extensions allows you to use your existing Google Merchant Centre product feed to enrich your search ads. You can get started with Product Extensions with just a few clicks. No need to create new campaigns or ad groups, update your keywords or change your ad text.

How can i use Products extensions?

  • Visit the campaign settings tab in your account and edit the ‘Use product images and information from my Google Base account’ option under ‘Ad extensions
  • Specify the Base account you would like to use
  • AdWords will automatically display product from your product feed when they are relevant to a user’s search query.
