The Popular Link between Google, Facebook, YouTube, and Yahoo!

If you want to have a successful online marketing plan, then it’s important to understand the latest findings regarding commonly used search engines and social networking pages. Their relationship over the last year has become much more intimate, and there is a need to learn how to market online with both factors playing a significant role.

Experian Hitwise is a website that reports the findings of the latest most popular hits. The recent updates include Google, Facebook, Yahoo!, and YouTube. It’s not uncommon for internet users to sit down and actually search out the terms “Facebook” and “YouTube.” It’s also not uncommon for users to type in a keyword and then include the addition of “Facebook” and “YouTube.”  This brings them to the YouTube or Facebook posting that will include the use of their primary keyword.

Thus, it is essential that all marketing efforts be inclusive when it comes to social networking pages and search engines. If the user is not enough of an indication of the importance of this, then the social networking pages themselves might be. Those who have a strong fan base on Facebook and are hit with a significant number of “likes” are able to improve their SEO return. Their ranking is actually tagged within Facebook, and they are given preference the same way Google and Yahoo! gives preference to websites with higher levels of keywords used in context. In other words, you can now consider Facebook more than a social networking page. You can also consider it to be a search engine of its own.

What does this mean when it comes to marketing? It means that the typical keyword optimization must now be used in conjunction with social networking marketing. Should you abandon the SEO tactics that you’ve been using and just focus on bringing up your social networking ranking? No. It’s important that you focus on each aspect of marketing. Dropping one for the other will not enable you to get to the place that you want to be in.

It also means that you’re going to have to start paying close attention to cross promotional ideas. Your search keywords are likely to be linked to other, often more popular, links and you’ll need to know what is inclusive and what should be left out. For instance, searches for athletes are often done by the user in order to find information, statistics, and updates on any of the latest scandals. Cross promotional products would be the sponsors. The sponsors of an athlete would then be able to tie into the searches through a variety of methods, including article marketing and social network solutions.

As the relationship between Google, Facebook, YouTube, and Yahoo! continues to grow and become ever more intimate it’s important for marketers to remain abreast of the trends. Potentially, if Hitwise continues to provide the same results into the future, the social network pages may very well become so integrated that those who try to market without the support of social network users will not find their websites on the top three or four pages of search engines. Now is the time to provide your business with the social media, the video marketing and promotion, and the traditional SEO battle there are now more ways than ever to get your website noticed.
